If your perfect vacation includes pine-scented air, crackling campfires, scenic hikes, and your loyal pup keeping pace at your side, then Broken Bow, Oklahoma, needs to be on your next adventure agenda!
Broken Bow is known for its stunning natural beauty and outdoor adventures, including the towering pines of the Ouachita Mountains, the sparkling waters of Broken Bow Lake, and the expansive trails of Beavers Bend State Park.
Beavers Bend State Park is a haven for dogs and their humans alike (probably, beavers, too). Whether you're up for a leisurely stroll or a more demanding hike with sweeping views, there's a trail for every kind of explorer. Luie Boone needs to know how many beavers he can meet on his hike. Hopefully, a lot!
And if you want to cool off? Head down to the shores of Broken Bow Lake to take a dip or wade through Mountain Fork River. Be sure to bring a floating toy for yourself and a life vest for your pup, so you both can enjoy the water safely.
After a long day of exploring, Broken Bow serves up some tasty treats for humans and dogs alike at their pup friendly restaurants. Luie Boone's salivating at the idea of some tasty treats. He wonders what foods Broken Bow is known for.
If you're looking for a slice of wilderness heaven for you and your pup, start planning your trip to Broken Bow, Oklahoma. It’s the kind of place where tails wag nonstop and memories are made one sniff, one swim, one hike, and one woof at a time!

It features the following amenities:
Large covered back patio with comfortable furnishings, a huge Smart TV, and a wood-burning fireplace
Uncovered back deck, which allows for beautiful views of the towering pines and features a oversized hot tub
Fire pit area, which is surrounded by Adirondack chairs
Your dog will feel welcome here, with their own food & water bowl set and toys (Hopefully, one of them toys is a beaver toy!)

What does Luie Boone think of this rental? He woofed:
The vacation cabin that we will be staying in is called Humble and Kind. Fancy name for a cabin, but I dig it! First of all, I bet it will smell like new adventures. We can call and schedule delivery of our groceries to be ready inside the cabin upon our arrival. Good start! My humans better order me some snacks in that grocery haul. I am already claiming the comfiest spot by a window—perfect for squirrel surveillance. The couch, I am sure, is off-limits (they say), but... we’ll see about that after bedtime. This place will feel calm and cozy. The kind of home where no one yells when you track in a little mud, as I will be zooming in and out from the spacious backyard. No one will yell at you if you snore too loud either. This is the kind of place where belly rubs are given freely and naps are deeply respected. “Humble and Kind,” huh? If that means soft blankets, sun patches on the floor, and a whole lotta love, then, yeah, I could get used to it. Just wondering where the treat drawer is in that place?
Paws Venture Here

Beavers Bend State Park
This state park offers numerous outdoor activities for you and your pup to enjoy together. There are trails suitable for both experienced and casual hikers, kayak or canoe rental services, a river stocked with trout, and a lake for humans and dogs alike who can't resist playing in the water.

Lucky Dog River Floats
Grab a tube, gather up your best furry friend, and head down to Lucky Dog River Floats to enjoy a calm float down the river. It is even shallow enough in most places, so you can ditch the tube.

Beaver Lodge Nature Trail
This is a 3 mile trail, which features a waterfall. Hopefully, the beavers don't create a dam and block off the waterfall! It is primarily used for walking and hiking with a canine companion.

Skyline Trail
Fido is welcome to join you as you trek across Skyline Trail. It has several water crossings, so be prepared to get your feet and paws wet!

Lookout Mountain Loop
This is a pleasant wooded trail, which offers a couple small lookouts into the valley.

Hochatown State Park
This state park raps around the shore of the crystal clear Broken Bow Lake. It has several hiking trails to explore.

Beavers Bend Marina
Here, visitors can rent a boat to take out on Broken Bow Lake with their four-legged companion in tow. Don't forget your pup's life jacket!

Grateful Head Pizza Oven and Beer Garden
This pizzeria serves up a variety of delicious drinks and pizza pies. Fido is welcome to join you and will be served a bowl of water. Hey, Luie Boone thinks, where's the pup's pizza? Not fair.
Luie Boone's Pet Peeve about
Broken Bow, Oklahoma
There's just so much to love about this vacation destination, but there's one thing that's got Luie Boone's leash in a twist. He woofed:
Okay, so here’s the deal: Broken Bow is basically a dog paradise with trees to sniff, trails to explore, and water everywhere. But, we will need to have a serious tail-to-human talk if you want to bring me there in the summer! They say the heat may be ruff during the summer, like "panting-before-we-even-leave-the-cabin" ruff! And the humidity? It may be like walking through soup, and that's not the tasty kind with chicken and rice. We’re talking about full-on fur-melting conditions. But hey, I’m still wagging and wanting to go! We just need to plan smart. We'll need to hit those trails early when the sun’s still sleepy or wait until the sun starts to dip behind the pine trees. We will stick to shady spots, grassy trails, or take lots of splash breaks down by the river. Please, please, please bring my collapsible water bowl. We maybe even will toss in a nap under the porch fan when we get back to the cabin. Bottom line? I know I will love Broken Bow, but I will love it even more when my paws stay cool and my water dish stays full. So, let’s make our summer vacation smart! I’m here for the memories—not the heatstroke.
