What does Luie Boone think of this rental? He woofed:
We’re going on vacation and staying in a rental that sounds like my kind of place! Cozy spots, quiet nooks, and just a short drive (windows down, please!) to a place called Telluride. Right below the rental house is a huge chuck of open space. They call it the Telluride Valley Floor and the San Miguel River. It's full of smells and critters to watch! I can sniff the breeze for hours, while we all hike and fish. The house sits high on a hillside, surrounded by trees like a big safe den. Inside the house, there's a big mudroom for leashes and boots. Upstairs, there's a wide-open space where the humans cook and eat. That's where I am going to take a big, stinky nap by the window. Outside, there’s a huge patio with a yummy-smelling grill and a cozy fire pit. It'll be the perfect spot for sunbathing and begging for snacks. At night, the humans will have big soft beds, and I'll keep watch through the windows. There are even more sleeping spots upstairs, plus a balcony for early morning sniffs! Best of all, it's close enough for town adventures, but far enough for peaceful, tail-thumping naps. I can't wait. There's mountains of memories to make… and, of course, squirrels to chase!

Coonskin Mountain via Ridge Trail
Try this 1.9-mile point-to-point trail, which starts near the bottom of the gondola and snakes through some absolutely beautiful stretches of aspen. You and your pup can ride the free gondola back down or hike back down the Ridge Trail.

Hope Lake
Hike on a 4.8-mile out-and-back trail with your buddy, leading to the shore of this gorgeous sub-alpine lake! Luie Boone hopes he can cannonball into this one!

Smuggler Union Brewery & Restaurant
This is a pup-friendly brewpub located on a quiet side street patio, which serves American eats for humans. Pups get their own water bowls... but, Luie Boone's suggesting that all pups smuggle some human food for themselves!
Luie Boone's Pet Peeve about
Telluride, Colorado
There's just so much to love about this vacation destination, but there's one thing that's got Luie Boone's leash in a twist. He woofed:
When my humans first said we were going on the gondola in Telluride, I was excited... until I saw it. It’s this giant, swinging glass box that floats through the sky. Of course, I did what any sensible dog would do. I froze in place and refused to get in, cause what the heck is that? Unfortunately, humans can be very stubborn and sneaky. So before I could even protest, they grabbed me under my big belly and hauled me right into that swinging glass trap. Betrayal! Then the doors slammed shut, and the floor started moving. It swayed, it bumped, and it made weird noises, I wasn’t sure if we were heading to a trail or to the moon. I kept my eyes glued to the floor and pretended I was brave. Some dogs act like gondolas are no big deal. They'll sit there with their tails wagging and noses pressed to the glass, but that's not me! Those high-flying views? Very suspicious if you ask me! However, once you survive the flying mystery box, Telluride will greet you with mountain paths to explore and a nose-full of amazing new scents. So I guess... gondolas can be scary, but maybe, just maybe, they can be worth it. Just don’t expect me to enjoy the ride. I guess Telluride’s worth it in the end, but if you ever see a large dog laying flat on the gondola floor, eyes wide, soul leaving their body... yeah, that’s me. Just know I’m doing it for the views... or maybe, the cheese.
