What would Luie Boone have thought of this rental? He would have woofed:

My humans had planned a special getaway to Turnberry Lakefront Getaway in Warren County, Missouri. They chose it because dogs were welcome, and I know we all would have loved its peaceful setting on Foxtail Lake. I imagined exploring the shoreline, watching them fish from the private dock, relaxing on the deck beneath the towering trees, and ending each day while they enjoyed the cozy fireplace, well-equipped kitchen, and private hot tub under the stars. But I passed away before our vacation could ever happen. I never got the chance to make those memories with my humans, though I know they had already imagined me right there beside them. I also would have reminded my family to keep an eye out for Amur honeysuckle, a beautiful-looking shrub with fragrant spring flowers and bright red berries that can seem like a harmless part of the landscape. But beneath its pretty appearance, it is an aggressive invasive plant throughout Warren County, Missouri. It can quickly spread into woodlands and natural areas, crowding out native plants and reducing the healthy habitat that local wildlife depends on. Its berries and other plant parts can also be harmful if eaten by dogs, so I would have happily admired those arching branches and red berries from a safe distance while we explored together. We never got to take that trip, but I know my humans still dream about it. Someday, if they visit Turnberry Lakefront Getaway, I hope they'll smile, think of me, and know that my love—and my paw prints—will always be with them on every adventure.

Luie Boone's Pet Peeve about

Warren County, Missouri

There's just so much to love about this vacation destination, but there's one thing that would have put Luie Boone's leash in a twist and he would have woofed:

My humans had planned to take us to Warren County, Missouri for a vacation, and I know they would have loved watching me discover all the new sights, sounds, and smells. I always wondered how I would have felt seeing the wild turkeys that live there. With Warren County’s healthy wild turkey population, there was a good chance I would have met some of these big, unusual birds along the way. I think my first reaction would have been to stop and stare. Their size, sudden movements, and loud calls might have made me a little nervous. I would have stayed close to my humans, looking to them for comfort while I tried to decide what these strange feathered creatures were all about. My humans would have reminded me that I was safe and let me watch the turkeys from a distance. Even though I never got to take that vacation with them, I like to imagine us exploring together and sharing those special little moments that make adventures unforgettable.
