Is there anything better than enjoying the warm sandy beach, cool ocean water, and clear blue sky? Yeah, there is. It's enjoying all that and having you best furry friend by your side while doing it!

The Outer Banks of North Carolina offers you and your furry friend the opportunity to do just that. This destination is a welcome relief from crowded cities and overrun vacation spots.

In fact, you won’t find any cities on the Outer Banks. It's just 100+ miles of wide-open shoreline, charming seaside villages, and a mix of towns brimming with personality! There's no shortage of things to appreciate here.

For travelers and their pooches seeking an authentic coastal experience, they should seek out the variety of towns and villages that dot the picturesque coastline. The quaint towns of Corolla Beach, Duck, Southern Shores, Kitty Hawk, Nags Head, Hatteras, and Avon offer natural beauty, historical charm, a range of outdoor adventures, numerous culinary delights, and a sense of community that beckons visitors and their canine companions back year after year.

Perhaps, the best part of the Outer Banks is the incredibly pup-friendly beaches. Beaches!? That excites Luie Boone, who spends more time in the water than on the sand, but can still appreciate a good sandy beach.

So grab the snacks, crank up the tunes, and get ready for a tail-wagging adventure that’s sure to be filled with laughter, sandy paws, and maybe a few “uh-oh” moments when your pup decides that the back seat is the perfect place for a spontaneous game of 'fetch' with your favorite sunglasses.

What does Luie Boone think of this rental? He woofed:

I think we have found a place to escape from it all! When vacationing in the Outer Banks, I can dig holes in the sand at the dog-friendly beaches. Sorry paw-rents, I'm going to be rolling in the sand like a silly, stinky goof, too. I'll try to get all that pesky sandy off of me when I go dipping and diving in the ocean. And run, run, run—that I will! I will be in pure happiness here. The beach will become one giant playground just for me! I understand that the beaches here are supposed to be relatively uncrowded. That will be nice, as we will be staying in an ocean-front beach vacation home. If we get tired of the beach, the home has a private heated pool, a hot tub, and basketball court that we can enjoy.

Luie Boone's Pet Peeve about

The Outer Banks of North Carolina

There's just so much to love about this vacation destination, but there's one thing that's got Luie Boone's leash in a twist. He woofed:

When we go walking on the sand dunes there, we need to watch out for sandspurs! Sandspurs are nasty little buggers. They latch onto anything and everything! They are a weed that masquerades as grass until it flowers and sets seed, which is when it becomes a prickly spur. It can be very painful if stepped on! Maybe I'll have to wear my booties, even though I walk like a goofball with them on. Don't judge me, I'm protecting myself from the sandspurs. Make sure you protect your furry friend, too.
