This vacation destination is a part of our first series of blog posts titled Pooches Polite.

Located along the famous Inside Passage Waterway to Alaska and on the western coast of Canada is Quadra Island—the perfect place to let your dog roam free and have a tail-wagging good time together.
To get there, you can hop on board a ten-minute scenic ferry ride to cross the Discovery Passage, with your pup enjoying the ride right by your side. Luie Boone wonders what smells and sights he'll encounter on this ferry ride.
This is a paws-itively perfect way for both of you to see the sights, enjoy the salty breeze, and get to Quadra Island. It is also a bark-ificent way to start your adventure together!
Whether you are hiking through the woods, exploring the beaches, or just sniffing around the local shops, it will be an ultimate bark-cation for both you and your furry friend. So, let’s leash up, get those paws moving, and let's head to Quadra Island!

What does Luie Boone think of this rental? He woofed:
Lions, tigers, and bears—OH MY! But, not on this island! On this vacation, it will be seals, whales, and dolphins—OH MY! Our vacation will start with a ferry ride to the island, where hopefully we will catch a glimpse of harbor seals hanging in their sheltered coves. When we get to the vacation rental and sit on the back deck, we will have views of the ocean. There, we can watch for orca whales and blowholes... whoops, I mean dolphins! OH MY—I cannot wait until we are off to a vacation at Quadra Island!

Luie Boone's Pet Peeve about
Quadra Island, British Columbia, Canada
There's just so much to love about this vacation destination, but there's one thing that's got Luie Boone's leash in a twist. He woofed:
There are wolves on Quadra Island! For the most part, the people who live there are very proud to be sharing the island with them. Occasionally, however, the wolves can be heard howling at night. There are reports that wolves have taken a small dog, cat, or farm animal. That's terribly sad, and is an indicator that my paw-rents have to keep an extra eye out to make sure I am safe. It's good to know that, at least, there has never been a dangerous encounter between people and wolves. By thinking smart and acting appropriately, it will stay that way.
